Located in the Garrison Historic Area, on the outskirts of Bridgetown, the Barbados Museum & Historical Society invites you to explore with us the history of the island from its earliest inhabitants through to independence.

Opening Hours

The Barbados Museum & Historical Society is open seven days a week

Monday to Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Sundays 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Closed on public holidays

Early closure may occur on occasions when a private event is held on the premises.

Museum Gift Shop

Monday to Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Shilstone Memorial Library

Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Admission

Adults – $20 Barbados Dollars.

Children under 12 years – $10 Barbados Dollars

Barbadians with ID – No admission

Accessibility

Most galleries in these 19th century buildings are accessible for wheelchairs and strollers, however the Warmington, Cunard and Military Gallery are not easily accessed by wheelchair. While the Shilstone Memorial Library is not wheelchair accessible, an appointment may be pre-arranged (Tel: 1-246-427-0201 or Email: library@barbmuse.org.bb to meet with the Librarian in an accessible space.
