Imagine, an opportunity to create tomorrow’s history today.
We are conducting a survey encouraging ALL Barbadians across the world to vote for items that can be included in a time capsule. This initiative is being managed by the 50th Anniversary of Independence Secretariat in collaboration with the Barbados Museum & Historical Society and will seek to create a historic record of how we currently live today. The items will be placed in this capsule and its contents revealed to the Nation in November 2066 in honor of the country’s 100th anniversary of Independence.
But first, we need your help in creating the list of items which will be voted on. It is easy to participate, please comment below with your suggestions for the types of things we should put into the capsule.
Of course, given the sensitive nature of the time capsule and the required environmental conditions to ensure the capsule does not deteriorate we have created a recommended list of the types of items that cannot be placed in the time capsule. The suggested guidelines are available from here.
Please also feel free to send us your suggestions via E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our voting process commences on October 12th 2016, so submit your suggestions as soon as possible.
